Civil Wedding Ceremonies

Harp music at a civil wedding usually consists of the following:

Music before the ceremony to entertain guests as they enter the room.
One piece as the Bride makes her entrance.
Three or four pieces during the signing of the register.
One piece as the Bridal Party exit.

The Government have recently relaxed their prohibition on religious music at a civil wedding ceremony. Hymms are still not permitted, but other music with religious connotations may be allowed at the discretion of the Registrar. In practice, Registrars are varying quite significantly in their interpretation of the new guidelines, so if you are thinking of having religious music, you will need to check with your Registrar first.

Apart from this, the sky's the limit when it comes to choosing music and it depends very much on the individual taste of the bridal couple.

Paula will discuss your preferences with you beforehand and help you to select your choice of music for the ceremony. She is pleased to locate and play special requests whenever possible.

Paula's music list has some possible suggestions for your civil wedding ceremony.

Paula is happy to stay on to play during wedding receptions and wedding breakfasts, if desired.

"Thank you so much for making our wedding a beautiful and special occasion. Our guests were captivated by your enchanting and soulful playing of your wonderful repertoire. In particular we were both thrilled that you took such trouble to learn our tear-jerker! Several of our male guests have confessed to a dampness around their eyes... Thank you are such inadequate words with which to acknowledge your talent and the years you have spent developing your skills. We enjoyed every moment of your involvement in our wedding - sincere thanks from both of us."
